!!! Update for 1-30-2022 race!!! Winter Series Participants! Just received "the call" from PCTI. Due to the impending storm ALL activities have been cancelled at PCTI for this coming weekend (1/29-1/30/2022). This unfortunately, includes Winter Series Race #4.
The Winter Series is back in 2022 for one last running! The team has had fun supporting this PCTI freezing (well not always) fundraiser the last 10 years but its now time hang up these running shoes. So if you have never had a chance to experience the PCTI Winter Series this is your ABSOLUTE LAST CHANCE!
This years event will be super simple. Each of our FIVE (5) IDENTICAL 5K events will be $25 per race or $30 the day of. At YOUR first race you will be provided a SHOE TAG and BIB for all the events you sign up for. Both are DISPOSABLE... no need to return them. If you lose either there will be a $5 replacement fee. We will be providing a gallon zip lock bag to store them both so keep them in your glove box post race. Please note the first four events are capped at 100 runners each race with 200 at the Finale so be sure to sign up for all the races you expect to run from the get go...
ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE THREE (3) FINISHES, ONE (1) of WHICH MUST BE THE FINALE ON FEBRUARY 6TH TO BE AWARD ELIGIBLE. So run TWO (2) of the first FOUR (4) events then the FINALE and you are golden!
IMPORTANT --->>> (PLEASE READ!) Those that have run the series know... we have a COMMEMORATIVE each year. Its been hot and cold but this last one is an absolute keeper. Being the Winter Series Finale, literally, we will be producing an embroidered fleece jacket that you can wear when you want to reminisce about what once was! This fleece jack is optional and costs $50 (lots of embroidery here). You need to order the fleece by 1/3/2022 so please ensure you don't miss this deadline, as once the order is in... well you know. <<<---
Below is the tentative game plan for each Winter Series Race:
- 9:00 AM - Volunteers and Event Staff Arrive
- 9:30 AM - Registration Opens; 10:45 Registration Closes!
- 10:50 AM - Participants begin lining up for the Start
- 11:00 AM - Mass Start!
- 11:15-12:29 PM - Once finished grab a wrapped "hot" bagel, prepackaged snack, fruit or bottled water. Cool down. Chat with your friends or foe then make your way out and we'll see you at the next Series race! Wash, rinse, repeat until the Finale!
- 12:59 PM - Series Race Closes
- Commemorative and Series Awards will be distributed at the Finale!
A note to those marathon training! The PCTI campus is an extremely safe place to run. Over the years our participants have been known to run the course several times before and after a race to get their mileage in! If you need to clock a few miles be sure to make your way down early BEFORE eacg raceand and get a few in!
See everyone on Sunday, January 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd (skipping, due to National Fencing Championship @PCTI), 30th and Feb 6th! Be safe out there and have a great 2021-22!
