2023 Matrix + McKinney Velo KERRVILLE Training Camp

We are excited to announce details for the next edition of the world-famous Matrix/McKinney Velo KERRVILLE Training Camp, February 16-19 in Kerrville, TX!

We will again base our camp out of our traditional location: the YO Ranch Hotel in Kerrville.

Our long-time routes for the Queen and King stages of the weekend remain unchanged -- Friday’s 70 miler starting in Medina (finishing at the Apple Orchard), and Saturday’s Century ride from Hunt out to Leakey. We will again use our well-received new 2022 routes for Thursday’s warmup ride and Sunday’s crown jewel finale.

To keep the event safe and manageable, we are limiting the size to 48 riders between the co-sponsoring clubs Matrix and McKinney Velo. Entries will be confirmed on a first-available basis by signup through BikeReg. Registration is scheduled to remain open through February 8, or until all spots are claimed. Our discounted room rate through the YO Ranch Hotel will be available through Feb. 3, subject to availability (see below for lodging details). We do request a donation of $20 per rider (for the entire weekend) to assist support drivers with fuel costs. Registration is for Matrix and McKinney Velo 2023 members in good standing.

We will continue to use our staged start to Friday’s “Apple Pie” ride designed to sync the riders up to finish at around the same time for Pie and Burgers. We have options, especially on Saturday's long ride, for "shorter" ride distances. If we have enough interest there has been a 65-70 mile route proposed on Saturday.  Let us know during registration whether you think you'll be riding with the "Pro group" (super-fast!) or the "chill group", or somewhere in-between. We typically have enough of all three to make for three different start waves on the longer days.

If you prefer, you may call the hotel reservation desk and ask for the Matrix 2023 rate. This discount $99 rate block will be available through Feb. 3, after which reservations will be subject to room and rate availability.
