Join us for the 37th Annual Amish Country Bike Tour
September 9, 2023
Next Discounted Deadline August 1, 2023
Also known as "the ride for pie" this is one of the region's favorite cycling events known for its unique character and atmosphere.
Routes of 16, 25, 50, 62, and 100 miles will leave from Legislative Mall, 411 Legislative Ave., Dover, DE, and wind through central Delaware's peaceful (and flat!) Amish countryside. This ride is perfect for your first century!
This is not a timed event or race.Â
Motor vehicles are not restricted on the routes of the Amish Country Bike Tour. Follow all rules of the road. Never cross a yellow line, not even to pass.Â
To promote safety and relieve congestion, a staggered start is scheduled:
7:00-7:30 am 100 mile riders, reaching the pie stop between 10:00-10:30 am & predicted to return between 1:00-3:00 pm
7:30-8:00 am 62 mile riders, reaching the pie stop around10:45 am & predicted to return between 12:30-2:30 pm
8:00-8:30 am 50 mile riders, reaching the pie stop around 11:15 am & predicted to return between 12:00-2:00 pm
8:30-9:00 am 25 mile riders, reaching the pie stop around 10:00 am & predicted to return between 11:00 am -1:00 pm
9:00-9:30 am 16 mile riders, reaching the pie stop around 10:15 am & predicted to return between 11:00 am-12:00 pm
Leaving prior to your designated starting time is not recommended, rest stops may not be open and if they are open, there may be more congestion and lines. All participants must have completed their ride by 5 pm.

Up to 5 rest stops are included, depending upon distance: Harvest Ridge Winery (MaryDel), Painted Stave Distillery (Smyrna), Felton Little League (Felton) and Emanuel AME Church (Hartly), depending on distance, but all routes stop at the Amish Schoolhouse (Dover), where youâll enjoy our famous, fresh, locally-baked pie.
Following the bike tour, everyone returns to Legislative Mall for your catered lunch (included in your ride purchase) from either Outlandish Food Truck, The Wandering Chef, Delaware Provisions, Chef Robbie Jester, or Taco Jardin and non-alcoholic beverages, adult beverages (with purchased tickets) entertainment with Glass Onion, DJ, merchandise sales and a variety of vendors including stretching, direct sales, sweets, crafts and cycling gear and apparel. All the extra fun (except your piece of pie and ride) is held on Legislative Mall (411 Legislative Ave) in historic downtown Dover, Delaware. Most vendors will accept credit/debit cards and cash.
Registered participants are also invited to join one of two scheduled free Club rides on Sunday following the event. Sign up during registration. Â
2023 Jerseys, T-shirts, socks, commemorative wine bottles, low digit bike tags, photo packages, and adult beverage tickets are available for pre-order. Pre-ordering is recommended. Merchandise may sell out between placing our order in June and the ride in September. You can order merchandise independent of your ride registration by choosing to purchase as a âguestâ.

Bike Rentals are now available through Unlimited Biking
More details about the event will be posted as they are available here and on our website (www.amishcountrybiketour.com) as well as Facebook, Instagram & Twitter. Please ensure that BikeReg.com is a trusted sender in your email settings.Â
The Amish Country Bike Tour is a rain-or-shine, non-refundable event. There is no rain date.
In case of severe weather or restrictions mandated by local, state or federal government, Bike Delaware volunteers reserve the right to cancel/alter/modify the tour for safety and other concerns. In any event, we do not refund tour entry or transfer registrations to the following year. In the unlikely case a tour is canceled, you may claim your registration fee as a tax-deductible donation.Â
Unfortunately, all expenses have already been incurred prior to the actual event. Should we be forced to cancel or offer deferrals, the financial impact of the event would not be any different than if the event was held in its entirety. Thus, refunding or deferring any entry fees would devastate the financial future of the Amish Country Bike Tour.
The Amish Country Bike Tour is managed by Bike Delaware volunteers. Bike Delaware is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that advocates for safe, convenient and fun cycling and walking for everyone. All funds raised from the Amish Country Bike Tour support Bike Delaware's mission and vision, as well as our community supporting organizations.
