The 2022 Endless Summer 5k/10k training program is an eight week program preparing individuals to participate in the Endless Summer 5k or 10k race on November 19th @ 8:30am. The class starts on Monday, September 19th @ 5:30pm (5pm to accept any late registrations) at Mellow Mushroom, 410 Anastasia Blvd., St. Augustine, 32080. Participants should come prepared for a short run that evening after a brief introduction. Training runs will take place every Monday (except Oct. 31st) and Saturday from September 19th - November 19th.
Participants will progress towards completing the entire 5k or 10k running. Others may prefer a walk/run combination to complete the race. This class is not a beginning 5k class, so it is recommended that you be running or walk/running three times per week for two to three weeks preceding the class start date.
The program will accommodate all levels of runners, so everyone is encouraged to participate in the training class. Pace groups will be formed to complete training runs at 13 minutes per mile and faster. You will be encouraged and assisted to tailor your training program to fit your specific fitness level.
The class is conducted by Chip Gusler who is USA Triathlon level 2 coach, who has worked with people of all levels training for various events. In addition to Chip, there will be ACRR pace leaders providing additional guidance and encouragement.
Registration is online for the training class. There is no fee for credit/debit card payment online. Participants in prior to the Endless Summer 5k/10k will be mailed a discount code. Registration for the Endless Summer 5k/10k is a separate registration & fee.
