For 2023, the Ann Arbor Velo Club is hosting a four-week new rider clinic and practice race. This is designed to provide new riders and racers with a fun and structured introduction to group riding and bike racing so they can learn and practice the core skills and information for safer and better group riding racing. New riders will learn from licensed coaches and experienced racers, and they will earn 2 upgrade points for participating in the clinic and race.
Women new to riding and racing are encouraged to participate! Also new to the races this year, series awards will be presented to the top three racers in the Womens, A, and B fields at the end of the series based on finishing position in individual races. More details are at www.SpringTrainingSeries.com.

Race Categories
C Race: This race is intended for novice and relatively new riders and racers. Lapped riders will not be pulled. Category 4 & Novice (5) racers.
B Race: This race is intended for riders with some experience in criterium racing. Riders should be comfortable riding and cornering in a group at speed. Lapped riders may be pulled. Category 3 & 4 racers.
A Race: This race is intended for experienced criterium racers. The pace will be fast and lagging racers may be pulled from the field. Category 1, 2, & 3 racers.
For all races, we may not place all racers. At least the top 10 finishers will be scored. However, in large fields, placing all riders can be challenging and delays the posting of results.
