Bikes on Tour:

All bikes in good mechanical condition are welcome at Biketober Festival including e-bikes, unicycles, trikes, tandems, recumbents, mountain, road, hybrid, gravel, touring and fat bikes. Our only requirement is that are able to complete your chosen course before the course closes at 4 PM.

Bike racks maybe available at home base, Lake Arvesta Farms and some of the many restaurants, brewers, wineries and cider mills that make up Biketober Festival. Please use them when available and secure your bike when not present.

The route consists of asphalt, compacted trails, and gravel roads. We recommend using a bicycle with wider non-racing tires of at least 38cc for maximum comfort and minimum effort. Hybrid, mountain, and gravel bikes will easily traverse the route. Road bikes without with a standard tire will work harder on the unpaved surfaces.

Repairs, parts, assembly, disassembly and shipping will incur a fee from the tour mechanic.

SAG:

Biketober Festival provides SAG support for all participants. Support includes transport of riders and their machines as necessary to make sure they are safe. Bicycles are transported on a traditional bike rack or inside an enclosed trailer. If you machine requires special handling, please review those needs with us prior to arrival so we can respect your wishes. The route is patrolled by SAG wagons and SAG stops are provided approximately every 20 miles.

Because of the bounty of restaurants, gas stations, and tasting stops, roving SAG wagons are equipped with water, energy gels, basic tools, a floor pump, flat repair kits, and spare tubes. Many of our tasting stops also have restaurants on premises. SAG stop locations provide water, basic tools, floor pumps, flat repair kits, and spare tubes. These locations are reviewed during the Rider Meeting.

Bikes that cannot be repaired by the owner will be shuttled to the mechanic at home base. Please do not ask volunteers to attempt repairs or fix flats.
