Go-Ride Gravity Series racing is back for 2022! We are excited to announce that the Dark Hollow Super D will take place at this event along with the Downhill race. As for Covid-19, we know you’ve been subject to a ton of safety related protocols over the past couple of years and we will continue to operate our races with the health and safety of our participants, staff and volunteers as a top priority. Saturday, June 25
The approximately 2 mile Downhill course begins at the top of the Giant Steps chair lift. The course will start on Lil’ Gritty but will mostly descend the Wildflower DH trail. Nearer to the base, the course will use Tank’s Track and finish out on the Malicious Woods trail. This is the same course used for last year’s race. As usual, Pros can expect a cash purse for both Men & Women’s classes.
Downhill Start Times
Downhill Racing begins at 1 p.m. with Novice (Cat 3) on course first, then Cat 2's and Cat 1's next finishing up with the Pros. You should be loading the lift no later than 25 minutes prior to your posted start time. If you miss your start time you may not get a timed run. The Downhill will be a one-run format. Individual start times for the race will be posted at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, at the base of the Giant Steps lift.
Sunday, June 26 Super D Race
The Dark Hollow Super D race descends the legendary trail that was lost to the big fire in 2017 but has been rebuilt and is even more fun than before! The course starts at the Sydney Peaks trail head and travels 6 miles down this amazing trail. The new, longer Dark Hollow trail flows like a dream. Big travel bikes are no longer necessary, they’ll work but trail bikes are the ticket. The race finishes where the Dark Hollow trail intersects the Second Left Hand Road. (Racers will need to ride about 6 miles down the road to the lower parking area as there is no parking at the race finish).
This Super D is a very special event and will be limited to the first 80 racers entered. Cat 2 racers and Novice are limited to 13 years of age and up.
Super D Start Times
Super D Racing begins at 11:30 a.m. with Pros & Cat 1's on course first. Individual start times will be posted at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday at Brian Head’s Giant Steps Lodge. A mandatory pre-race meeting will be held at the race start area at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday morning. Racers are encouraged to car pool to the pre-race meeting. After the meeting has concluded car pool drivers will caravan down to the race-finish parking area and then will ride a free shuttle back to the race start. This race will be run as a time trial format with racers going at 2-minute intervals.
