Council Member Shahana Hanif and the PTAs of Brooklyn’s public schools are coming together for the 14th annual PTA 5K+ run/walk/stroll/toddle/scoot in Prospect Park. The race will take place on Saturday, October 22 at 10 AM. Bib pickup and pre-race activities will begin at 9:00 AM.
For over a decade now, the PTA Fun Run has demonstrated the tremendous strength of our local public school communities. Parents, students, and educators have turned out in droves to show what it means to build community and work together on critical issues facing our public schools. Net proceeds from your registration fee will go to our neediest schools.
The Fun Run will be a 3.3 mile loop, starting and finishing on the main park drive just outside the LeFrak Center. The run will start at 10 AM. Bib distribution and pre-race activities will begin inside the LeFrak Center starting at 9 AM. As a fun run, we welcome everyone-- young, old, experienced and not, runners, walkers, strollers, tricycles, scooters, wheelchairs-- all are invited to join!
Register now with your school team and encourage your friends and fellow school community members to do the same. See you on October 22nd!
P.S. As this is an outdoor event, we will not be checking vaccination status and masks will be optional. We will have masks available should you decide you need one once you are there.
Parents, when you press the Sign Up tab above, please register yourself/adults first, then children.
And if you cannot be in Prospect Park on October 22nd and still wish to support local public schools, please visit the Donate tab at the top of this page. Any contribution is welcome!
