Join Vice Mayor Yassamin Ansari and Councilmember Carlos Garcia for the first annual Laveen 5K, a free, family-friendly, activation event, on Saturday, March 4th, at Laveen Area Conveyance Channel (LACC) with the starting point at Rogers Ranch Elementary School.
The first annual Laveen 5K is inspired by the robust community-led efforts to invest in and revitalize the LACC. Over the last few years, Vice Mayor Ansari, Councilmember Garcia, and neighbors have organized to bring nearly $175,000 in new repairs and investments to the LACC.
The first 150 participants will receive a free t-shirt and race towel. All participants will enjoy free food and drinks from local Laveen businesses, Trash Panda Vegan Food Truck, and Robeks Juice and Smoothie Shop.
Please join us to celebrate this next park phase and run, walk, and bike the LACC with our community – or join us on the sidelines with your family, friends, and pets to cheer on race participants! The City of Phoenix's Parks and Recreation, Public Works, and Streets Transportation Departments will also be available to provide updates about services in the area.
