Read-a-thon!

Read to feed your neighbors! Through the month of April, K-8 readers have the opportunity to give back to their community and win prizes by fundraising for every page they read. Here's how it works: (1) Sign up here. After you sign up, we'll send materials including a reading log. (2) With your parents' help, find sponsors (family friends, aunts, uncles, grandparents, neighbors) who will pledge a certain amount donated for every page you read. (3) Keep track of the number of pages you read during the whole month of April on our reading log, and enter the number of pages you read every week on this page. (4) At the end of the month, we'll announce our winners, share your totals, and contact your sponsors!

Miles for Meals

Whether you are a seasoned runner, walker, or hiker, or you are looking to start moving more in 2023, the Hancock County Food Drive invites you to sign up for the Miles for Meals challenge! Register and fundraise for every mile you walk, run, hike, or bike between Saturday April 15, 2023 and Sunday April 23, 2023. We encourage participants to create a fundraiser when they sign up, which can be easily shared with family, friends, colleagues, and neighbors. Participants can also form teams by joining a friend's fundraiser after they sign up. You will receive a confirmation email from Run Sign Up after you register. If you decide to create a fundraiser (this is an optional but encouraged feature!), Run Sign Up will send you a link to your fundraising page, which you can personalize and share with others. You also have the option of making a donation when you sign up. If you wish to surpass the donation and fundraising options, just click "continue" at the bottom of the page. Update your Run Sign Up account with every intentional mile (not just the total number of steps you take during the day) that you complete between 4/15/23 - 4/23/23, and share your success with your sponsors. You can also share your progress on social media by tagging us at #hcfdmilesformeals Your results (# of miles and fundraising total) will be reviewed after the event closes (11:59PM 4/23/23). Winners will be announced on April 30th!
