11th ANNUAL MONSTER CROSS!
Monster Cross offers a 25 and 50-mile race/ride. 
The course supports gravel, cross or mountain bikes.       
Awards are given in over a dozen divisions.


Here is what you will receive for your entry:
Race: Chip timed race: either the 50 or 25-mile distance
Post-race meal:  TBD
Event Swag: TBD
Post Race Grub: Post-race event meal ticket! 
Extras
Beer sales fundraiser: Friends of Pocahontas State Park will be selling beer at the finish to raise money to build and maintain the trails at Pocahontas.

Waves starting at 10 a.m 

Packet Pickup:
Saturday, April 10th location TBD
Race morning at venue 7:30am-9:50am

50 or 25  miles on rolling fire roads and double track. 
On all pre-rides: Please do not ride on any trails that state no bikes! We have the approval to use two short segments race day only.
 

Age Division info: 
For age group divisions we will take your age as of 12/31. So, if you turn 50 race year you can enter 50+
     
Support Station:
We will offer two on-course aid stations.

Awards:
Pro/Expert Division: First 3 men and women to cross the line who have entered the pro/elite Division) will take home the following including free entry into the 2021 race! (Prize money guaranteed only with 400+ racers.)
1st   $400 + comp entry into MX 2022
2nd  $250 + comp entry into MX 2022 
3rd  $100  + comp entry into MX 2022
4th-8th will be comped into MX 2022

Divisions: 
The first place of each division will receive free entry into the following year's Monster Cross
1st-6th place in each category will receive awards unless noted below.
Junior 19 and under (Top three overall M/F)
Unicycle (Top 3)
Mini Monster (Top three overall M/F)

The race is rain or shine (if there is snow that would prevent racing the event will be moved 2 weeks. We will make this call by the end of the day on Wednesday of race week! We would offer deferral for anyone who might not be able to make the new date.)

There may be cases of "acts of god" where weather, political situations or others where we may have to move the date of the event.  

Team Tent Space:  If you have 5 or more racers from your team (and you have a team 10x10 pop-up tent, let us know and we will reserve space for your set up at the start/finish area.  Email me at  rvadirtraces@gmail.com for space.  There is limited space so, this is first come first served.
