Come and compete in the 24th annual Van Bares Kid's Criterium, sponsored by the Northeast Bicycle Club. The race is being held this year at Harrington Elementary School in Lexington.
Races for kids 12 and under held “rain or shine” under USA Cycling permit. All racers must wear CPSC-approved helmets (look inside the helmet safety certification). Parents and guardians are responsible for bicycle safety and working condition.
Separate boys and girls races may be held if the fields are large. Competing in more than one race is encouraged, including competing against older racers. 4 year olds are welcome.
The races will be competitive with prizes for the top 3 finishers.
1. 100m sprints held on dirt course on baseball field.
2. All races held on marked grass courses around the fields.
3. Pursuit races held on marked grass courses. All Bicycle types allowed. Number of laps varies by age and ability
Members of the Northeast Bicycle Club will marshal the events and encourage, mentor and assist all racers.
FREE!!! Includes USA Cycling permit and insurance. A donation of $5 per racer to help with organizational expenditures will be greatly appreciated.
Parent or guardian MUST be present to sign competitors’ registration and entry forms. Make sure that names, address and telephone numbers are correct and legible.
Riders not wearing a CPSC-approved helmet will regretfully not be allowed to race.
