Check in will start at 7:00AM on race morning. Head to the pavillion at the athletic field to get your race number and timing chip. Race number should be pinned to the right side (NOT ON THE BACK). Timing chips should be secured to your seatpost with the available zip ties. Please return the timing chips after you have raced.
Parking and Race Course
Parking for this event will be available at Schott Brothers Athletic Field on Euclid St. in West Salem, OH. The race start is on 539 and Depot St. From the parking area, ride south on Lincoln St. and then turn left onto 539. You will see the start house and racers will line up on Depot Street. This race follows 539 but has 2 left turns and a right turn before the turn around. Safety officials and volunteers will be at each turn to direct you. The turn around will be after you pass through the town of Congress (last right turn). Race turn by turn directions and maps are available on Ride with GPS 40KM and 22KM. It is the racers responsibility to know the course.
Age Groups - you may use any equipment in this class. Usually racers rideTime Trial bikes with aero bars and aero-equipment such as helmets, skin suits, disc wheels, etc.
Eddy Merckx (Standard)- This is for racers with non-aero equipment. No Aero-bars or TT Bikes, no disc wheels, or aero-helmets. Shoe covers and skin suits are allowed. We understand that road bikes now come with carbon deep-dish wheels, so that's ok as long as they're not disc wheels or covered wheels. Please email the race director if you have questions.
To be eligible for a State Championship jersey or medal, a rider must hold a current USA Cycling annual license and reside in the state as shown on their license. Out of state cyclists are welcome to race, but will not be eligible for championship medals or the jersey. State Championship jerseys will be available for the 1st place winners in each category. Winners will be given the details on how to purchase their jersey after the event.
