WHY WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT FOR THIS EVENT
Help Us Bridge the Academic Gap - Keep Students On Track for Academic Success
Your Support Makes a Big Difference
Sandy Springs Education Force has been at the forefront of supporting the educational successes of financially vulnerable students in Sandy Springs for over a decade. With support from sponsors, we launched a brand new virtual tutoring program to help elementary school students stay on track with their academics during the pandemic emergency. We also expanded our successful Summer Book Club to ensure students did not lose their reading gains over the summer break. Many students are still facing vast educational gaps, especially children whose families have limited financial means. To help bridge this gap, we are continuing to expand our programs to provide targeted learning support and outreach programs that will make a difference for these public school students.
VIRTUAL EVENT
Sign up for a 10K or 5K or participate in a STEP CHALLENGE. Challenges will be based on the distance traveled with your steps!
The Challenge / Event is starting on Saturday, October 8, 2022 and runs through the LIVE Race Day on October 22, 2022.
10K / 5K: You choose your own route, where you run, and when during the open time frame (10/08-10/22). Finish your run and record your time manually into RunSignUp.
STEP Challenge: This event will be measured in DISTANCE. Get your steps by walking or running on a treadmill or other cardio machine, outside in the fresh air or anywhere you walk or run. Start with your steps on October 8 and log steps through October 22 at the end of the event. You can post your steps (walking or running) in the format of distances (miles) as often as you wish during this event. Currently, this is established to be entered manually during the event, but can be done easily through your smartphone.
