Thank you for considering the Dirty Pizza.

We've been hosting Dirty Pizza for many years now, and if you've ever been, you know how much fun, adventure and good food we've always packed into a single day. We've expanded DP to a weekend event and host a Saturday warm up ride followed by a swim in the lake, dinner at the pavilion and camping here on the hill.

Sunday's ride is a Classic "Mixed terrain" event with an emphasis on Gravel and Double track through the beautiful back country of our region.  You will encounter breathtaking scenery, babbling brooks, epic climbs, technical terrain and smooth packed dirt, along with a few sections of pavement.  There are multiple route options available for those looking for a shorter ride (cue Sheet or GPS only).   The full route is not yet determined, but expect 45-55 miles, 4500' - 5500' elevation.   There will be a staffed feed stop a bit beyond the half way point of the full loop.  This stop will be stocked with water, fruit, and the famous Orchard Hill Breadworks cookies!

The Course is entirely SELF NAVIGATION.  After MUCH debate, soliciting advice, and talking with other promoters we have decided to embrace what seems to be the future of our sport.  For us personally, it was a very hard decision.  We like arrows, but we share these roads and trails with a wide variety of users.  It has become apparent over the last few years that not all non-bikers share that like!   Conclusion: no arrows are better than wrong arrows!  The GPS track and cue sheets are available on bikereg, and will be emailed a day or two before the event as well.  Please contact us if you have any concerns about this.

Everyone riding the Dirty Pizza is strongly encouraged to ride with GPS (links below).  Cue sheets will also be availible.  Course marking is intended to help confirm rather than inform.    I urge you to read this article written by our friend Peter Vollers.  It explains how he has run his past events, and also how to make the most of riding with GPS.

To some, the most important feature of the day is the Post Ride Feed where you will be treated to Noah's wood oven fired pizza feast back at the Orchard Hill Pavillion.

WHAT TO BRING…

~ Competitive cyclists will want a cross or gravel bike with some tread. Not too worried about speed? You’ll be happy on a mountain bike. Road bikes not recommended unless you are riding the"clean pizza" option.

~ This ride is self supported. Bring your own gear to change flats and make minor repairs.

~ Sag support will be availible "On Call", but in some sections of the course that will mean walking a bit to get reception

~ The pizza feast will consist of wood fired pizza with a variety of toppings. Gluten free crusts available.

~ BYOB
