Activities: Gravel grinder, 60 miles

GID: 60142

Join Fresh Trails Adventures, and embark on a cycling adventure through the best gravel riding the state of Maine has to offer.  The FARM Ride will take you on hilly (ummm, very hilly) and meandering, mostly gravel roads and some ATV trails, through newly planted potato and wheat fields, and fields of wildflowers, with vistas into the Saint John Valley and neighboring New Brunswick, Canada.

The FARM Ride is not for the faint of heart; climb over 1,000 feet for every 10 miles ridden, for a total of 60ish miles.  It is sure to test your physical and mental prowess.  Refuel at the mid-route food stop.  Relax at the finish with a post-ride BBQ featuring locally sourced burgers, cold beer from Fort Kent's own First Mile Brewery, buckwheat ploye (French Acadian pancake) ice cream sandwiches from Fort Kent's Bouchard Family Farm, and tunes from local musicians.

-NO Bailout Loop option.  One route so be prepared!  Several options to return to start, however, are not mapped out.  Your phone and/or GPS will come in handy in that case.
-NO on-route direction signs, so be prepared!  (downloadable .gpx file upon request after June 1st (email: michaud_matthew@hotmail.com)

-NO sag wagon: be prepared with extra tubes, patches, air pump/CO2, etc.
-Expect 5-6 hours on the bike with numerous challenging climbs.

$75 registration on the day of ride.

Whatcha get:
-Entry into the best damn gravel bike ride you’ve ever pedaled
-One frosty pint from First Mile Brewery (if you're still thirsty, we'll have more for purchase)

-One snazzy FARM Ride bumper sticker
-Post ride BBQ with some of the best local beef your taste buds have ever tasted

Additional meal passes will be available for $10 (in-person purchase)
Additional beer will be available for $4 (in-person purchase)

-In the spirit of bad-ass gravel cycling, this is a rain or shine event.  Be prepared to get wet and dirty!
-Restrooms available at the start.
-Limited, first come, first served basic tent camping available at my place (about 3 miles from start) upon request (email: michaud_matthew@hotmail.com).  Porta-potty on site.  $15 payable upon arrival.
