TUX Creek Tussle 2022

 Welcome to the Second Annual TUX Creek Tussle - A cross country MTB race that take you around some of our favorite trails along the Tuxachanie Creek.    While our South Mississippi IMBA/SORBA chapter is new, our local riders have been hitting the Bethel trails for 30+ years and are stoked to share them with you!   

The race course is located at the Bethel MTB trails in the De Soto National Forest on Hwy 15 north of Biloxi Mississippi and the cross-country MTB format will challenge the advanced & intermediate rider alike.  

Covid precautions per CDC guidelines & Local authorities will be encouraged for entrants & supported by our volunteers.   

Drinks and a light lunch will be provided for racers, lunch tickets will be available for purchase for your friends, family, guests.  Swag items will be offered for the first 75 entrants so sign up today!

For our friends travelling from out of town there is the Lake view RV park located just 5 miles down the road on Hwy 15 at https://www.gulfcoast.org/listings/lakeview-rv-resort/826/.   Due to limited space, NO CAMPING WILL BE PERMITTED AT THE TRAILHEAD. Plan to make it a weekend of fun!

Our race will be permitted & insured through USA cycling.  An annual USA cycling race license or $10 day race license will be required to participate.   

No day of registration Sunday June 26th. Please register by end of day Saturday, June 25th.   

A little bit about the MSFits www.msfitsmtb.org

2020, Hurricane Zeta wrecked our beloved local trails in a bad way: dozens of trees down, debris for miles and closures forecasted for months.   How'd the MSFits respond?  We rallied with our friends, family, local authorities and USFS to saw, dig, rake and mow our trails right back into ridable shape in a matter of weeks.   It’s who we are and what we do.   

We are advocates for and enthusiasts of local MTB riding on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.   We are friends and family members that get together to celebrate our local Brickyard Bayou & Bethel MTB trails.    We enjoy and encourage new members to join us for weekly group rides and Monthly field trips to enjoy trails in the southeast.   We welcome all skill levels and abilities to join us for local MTB/gravel rides and you never know, sometimes it’s late on a Wednesday night under a southern star lit sky!

COVID-19:

Safety is our utmost concern - MSFits racers & participants will follow and support current CDC guidelines and local mandates to slow the spread of COVID-19.    We will continue to update as the global situation develops and our latest plan includes the following:

• We please ask anyone who is feeling ill or who has recently had COVID to cheer from home.
• Physical distancing will be encouraged through signage, canopy spacing and course marking to separate racers from supporters. 
• Hand sanitizer and masks will be available to racers, volunteers and supporters.
• Face coverings will be employed at registration and in the starting area.
• Race waves will be limited to 10 participants or less.
• Racers are encouraged to sign up early online and packet pickup will be provided outdoors under a canopy in front of our local bike shops.
• Food, snacks and water will be provided in individual servings to all participants
