Bison Stampede 5K 2023

YOU MAY REGISTER THE DAY OF THE RACE IN PERSON BEGINNING AT 4:30PM. 

$30 for 5K

$18 for 1 Mile Fun Run

This race is hosted by Southern Union State Community College's Health Sciences Department. 

The profits raised for this race will be used for Southern Union Health Sciences Scholarships, and prizes to promote health and wellness on the campuses. 

AWARDS

5K - Overall male and female runner and top 2 male and female finishers in each age group:

<10, 10-14, 15 –19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+

1 Mile Fun Walk/Run

Closed loop starts and ends on paved 1 mile track at Sportsplex. 

5K Race

5K begins at the Opelika Sportsplex  and heads out on the newly built road to Joe's Grocery and then back to the Sportsplex to where the last mile will be on the paved 1 mile track at the Sportsplex.

There will be live music, inflatables and face painting before and after the races.  You are encouraged to bring  blankets and chairs to partake in the festivities. 

T-Shirts:  Guaranteed if registration received by Friday, March 3, 2023.  If registered after March 3, 2023 you will receive T-shirts as supplies last, in available sizes. 

Refund Policy:  Refunds and transfers are not allowed. 

Day of Race registration: Begins  @ 4:30pm under “Registration Tent” at Opelika Sportsplex.  Pre-registration is highly encouraged.   

Packet Pick-ups: You may pick up your packets at Southern Union in the Health Sciences parking lot on the corner of Fox Run and  Bulldog Parkway (formerly Lafayette Parkway) on Friday, March 24th from 3:00pm to 5:00pm or  the day of the race beginning at 4:30pm on Saturday, March 25th under the “Packet Pick Up Tent” at the Sportsplex. 

 *All race entry participants are eligible to win door prizes throughout the event, but they must be present to win. 

**All Social Distancing Protocols recommended by the City at the time of the race will be followed for the race. We will keep you updated on this.
