Our hearts go out to the families and youth impacted in the tragedy in Uvalde, TX on May 24th. Join us for a great morning of gravel grinding while we raise money to help pay for counceling for the students at Robb Elementary School. All proceeds will be donated!
This event is held on a mix of gravel and paved roads out of the Harwood Community Center in Harwood, TX. Any bike with at least a 1 1/4"+ wide tires will be good, including mountain, hybrid, cyclocross and gravel bikes. This is a self supported ride and everyone should carry repair tools, spare inner tube, a cell phone for the event of emergencies, and all hydration/nutrition needs with them. We'll have a water stop at mile 29 for the 34 and 63 milers.
There is a beginner and family friendly 18 miler. Then we have a beautiful gravel and tree canopy filled 34 miler on tap. For the fastest of the fast, we have a 63 mile option available. It will be hot in July, so we VERY STRONGLY encourage all but the fastest and experienced gravel riders (15+mph average on gravel) to choose either the 18 or 34 mile option. After a predetermined time cut-off, all riders will be diverted at mile 29 to return to Harwood. This is not the event for riders to go out and prove something big for a long hot slow day! Let's keep it tight and fun while we help others!
We'll have a raffle for amazing donated items from the all the best supporting donors after the ride. You must be present to win. Big thanks to Athletic Brewing for providing ice cold guilt free brews at the finish line! Please feel free to bring lunch, snacks, or other beverages to enjoy post ride with your friends.
Please note: The 63 miler will start at 7am to beat the heat. Then the 18 and 34 milers will roll at 8am. Big thanks to the Harwood Community Center for hosting this event!
